Is it really free? What's the catch?+
It's genuinely complimentary - no cost and no obligation. Okay, full confession: my not-so-evil plan is that you'll fall completely in love with the experience and want to come back each month as your little one grows. But even if you don't, this one's yours to keep - my way of welcoming you into the studio before your baby arrives. You'll receive a beautifully edited gallery with one favourite image included, and you're welcome (but never expected) to purchase extra favourites if you'd love more.
When should I book?+
Around 30-35 weeks is ideal - you'll have a beautiful bump and still be comfortable enough to relax and enjoy it. If you're a little earlier or later, don't worry; just get in touch and we'll find the right time for you.
How long does it take?+
The portrait itself only takes a few minutes - it's quick, relaxed and completely fuss-free. Allow a little extra time to arrive, settle in and say hello, but you won't be there long at all.
Can my partner or children join?+
Your complimentary bump portrait is centred on you, mum-to-be. If you'd love your partner and children in some frames too, you can add a family portrait to your session for a small fee - simply add it online when you make your booking.
What happens after baby arrives?+
You'll already know exactly where to come to continue your story. Many mums go on to book baby's first portrait and join the Little Portrait Club, capturing their little one again and again as they grow. There's no pressure at all - but the door is always open. See the full Bump to Baby journey.
What's the session actually like - will other people be there?+
Your bump portrait is part of a Little Portrait Club day - a lovely, buzzy morning where a handful of families come and go for their own quick turn in front of the camera. Your session itself is just you (only a few minutes), but there may be other mums and little ones arriving or wrapping up around the same time. To keep things beautifully paced, we run a relaxed text queue: you'll get a text on the morning, reply when you arrive, wait comfortably in the car if you like, and we'll let you know the moment we're ready for you. It's quick, friendly and easy - not a long, quiet solo studio session.
Do you photograph newborns too?+
Absolutely - we regularly photograph individual baby portraits from around 1 week old onwards as part of our club days. For a relaxed lifestyle newborn session at home, take a look at the newborn options over at The Little White Studio too.
Where is the studio, and do you cover Christchurch?+
The Little White Studio is a purpose-built home studio in Lincoln, just south of Christchurch, with easy on-site parking. We welcome mums-to-be from right across Canterbury - including Rolleston, Halswell, Selwyn and greater Christchurch.
