What a club day feels like

Club days are designed to feel quick, easy and fun - for little ones and their grown-ups alike. You might arrive to find one family finishing up and another settling in within the same window. Just a short and enjoyable experience that will leave you saying 'wow that was easy!'

  • Check-in when you arrive - simply reply to our check-in text once you arrive, so you can wait comfortably in the car if you need to and we'll let you know the moment we're ready for you. More on how this works

  • A gentle 15-minute arrival window - no need to be early or rush, just arrive when it suits and we'll ease into it together.

  • Each portrait takes just a couple of minutes - playful and fun, never a drawn-out sit-still-and-smile.

  • Shy, wild or slow to warm up? Perfect. There's always room to watch first, have another go, or take a break - we're experts at the stubborn, the cautious and the busy.

Come exactly as you are. The real, giggly, wriggly moments are the ones we're here for.

Your questions, answered

A few of the things families ask most - scroll through for the answers.

How does arrival and check-in work on the day?
To keep things beautifully paced and avoid a crowded waiting room, we run a relaxed text-based queue. On the morning of your session you'll receive a text from us - then when you arrive you simply reply to let us know you're here. From there you're welcome to wait comfortably in the car or nearby, and we'll text back the moment we're ready for you. No rushing, no waiting room - just the studio calm and unhurried when it's your turn.
What if my child is shy, grumpy or won't cooperate?
Please don't stress - this is my favourite kind of challenge. Rather than expecting little ones to sit still and smile, I guide sessions with gentle prompts, games and lots of silliness. There's always time and space for shy children to warm up, watch others first, or have another go. We're experts at getting the best from every kind of small human, from the wildly energetic to the extra cautious.
Can we bring snacks, comfort toys or dummies?
Of course. Favourite comfort items, snacks and dummies are always welcome if they help little ones feel happy and settled - I'm not above a bit of bribery either. Just think mess-free and easy to eat, or something they can enjoy once they've finished up.
What if we're running a little late?
Life with little ones is unpredictable - I completely understand. There's a little flexibility built into the flow, so please still come along if you're running behind. Arriving as close to your 15-minute window as you can just helps the morning run smoothly for everyone.
Can adults be in the photos too?
Absolutely. Classic club-day portraits are usually child-focused, but our Family and Parenthood sessions are made especially for getting grown-ups in the frame - parents, grandparents and all. There's the option to add up to two extra people to a family session, which is perfect for a treasured three-generation portrait.
What if my baby is asleep or too young to sit up?
That's absolutely fine. Under about 8 weeks of age, we tend to pose babies lying down on the chair on a blanket, so please bring a soft blanket from home (any time up to around 3 months) in case they end up drifting off. After roughly 8 weeks, most babies can hold their head up enough to sit supported by the shape of the chair.
When will we see our photos?
Your private online gallery usually arrives within about 2-5 days of your session, ready to view and choose from. During busy seasonal periods it can occasionally take a little longer, but I always aim to get your portraits to you as quickly as I can.
What should we wear?
First and foremost, come as yourselves - the most meaningful portraits are the ones where everyone feels comfortable. If you'd like a little guidance, soft neutral and earthy tones photograph beautifully in the studio, and simple textures work especially well. Large logos or lots of text can be distracting in images, so those are best avoided.
What if we need to reschedule?
Life happens, especially with little ones. Your confirmation email has everything you need to reschedule or manage your booking, and you can move your own session up to 3 hours before the start time. I just ask for as much notice as you can give, so families waiting on a spot can make use of the time. If something unexpected comes up and you can't let me know ahead, just email as soon as you're able.
