Tegan Johnson Photography is now The Little White Studio
If you've booked with me before, you might have noticed a little change. The name above the door has shifted - from Tegan Johnson Photography to The Little White Studio - and I wanted to tell you properly why, because it isn't really a change at all. It's the same me, the same heart, the same way of working. It's just grown a home of its own.
I started photographing families back in 2013, under my own name, because that's what you do - you're a photographer, so you put your name on it. And for a long time that felt exactly right. It was just me, my camera, and a slowly growing list of families who trusted me with their most precious people.
Over the thirteen years since, that list became something I never expected. Newborns I photographed in their first week are at school now. Couples I met before their first baby have brought me their second and their third. I've watched whole families grow up through my lens - and somewhere along the way, this stopped being a job and became something much closer to a privilege.
The joy was never really the photographs - it was watching whole families grow up in front of me.
Over those years my work quietly found its shape. In the early days I said yes to almost everything, but the sessions I loved most - and kept being asked for - were always the same: babies, little ones, growing families, documented gently and often. Little by little I grew into that niche until it became simply what I do.
And then I noticed something lovelier still. It wasn't just that families came back - it was how often. I was seeing the same children, the same families, three, six, twelve times a year, for years on end. I watched first smiles turn into first steps into first days of school. These weren't one-off bookings; they were an ongoing relationship, a little rhythm we kept returning to together.
That feeling needed a name, and so The Little Portrait Club was born - a portrait collection that grows with your child, and, honestly, the closest thing I could find to describing what it feels like: being part of a special little club, coming back again and again to document this fleeting, precious stage.

Once I could see clearly what this had all become, The Little White Studio felt like the natural fit for what I actually do now - so it felt less like a rebrand and more like giving something that already existed its proper name. It's the home for all of it: The Little Portrait Club, connected, emotion-filled studio sessions, and the family portraits that started it all - on location or in the studio, wherever your family feels most like yourselves.
If I'm honest, this change has been quietly in the works for a while now. Life had other plans - it's been a big year of change around here, and more than once the studio's new name got gently pushed to the bottom of the list. But some things are worth waiting until the timing feels right, and it finally does.
Same photographer. Same heart. Finally, the right name for it.
So here's what this means for you: nothing changes about the experience you know. I'm still the one behind the camera, still pulling out all the stops to chase down the proper belly laughs, still chasing the real, unposed moments that make you go that is SO them. Your galleries, your favourite prints, the little traditions we've built together - none of that is going anywhere.
If you've followed along as Tegan Johnson Photography, thank you - truly. You're the reason this studio exists at all. And if you're finding me for the first time as The Little White Studio: welcome. I can't wait to meet your favourite people.
Here's to the next chapter.
xx Tegan
If it's time to document this chapter of your family's story, I'd love to help.
