FAQ

Booking & payment

How do I book a session?+
The Little Portrait Club days and Little White Studio sessions are booked in just a few taps using the booking links on this website - choose a time that suits and you’ll get instant confirmation, no back-and-forth. Full family portrait sessions are a little more bespoke, so those are arranged by email - just get in touch and we’ll plan the details together.
How far in advance should I book?+
Seasonal sessions are limited and fill up fast, so it’s worth booking as soon as you see a date you love. Other sessions tend to book out around 2–4 weeks in advance - but it’s always worth getting in touch, as I do my best to fit families in wherever I can.
What’s your cancellation or reschedule policy?+
Life with little ones is unpredictable - I get it. You’re welcome to reschedule with reasonable notice through the booking app. Full details are shown at the time of booking so everything’s clear up front.
Do you offer gift vouchers?+
Yes - a session makes a lovely gift for a new parent or grandparent. Get in touch and I’ll sort a voucher for you.

FAQ

The sessions

What’s a Little White Studio session like?+
A Little White Studio session is a guided experience designed to capture genuine moments and real connection with your little ones. We keep things playful and unhurried, with gentle prompts, lots of cuddles, and plenty of space for your kids to be themselves. No stiff posing - just you and your family.
What can I use a Little White Studio session for?+
There are two ways to book. Studio Stories are our flexible twenty-minute sessions, open-ended in subject matter - immediate family updates, sibling portraits, maternity, grandparents, individual child portraits or baby milestones, with room for a few different combinations. Studio Chapters are our shorter seasonal sessions, more focused and curated around a specific theme released at certain times of year. If you’re unsure which suits your idea, just ask before booking.
What age is best for baby photos?+
There’s no wrong time. Brand-new babies are lovely photographed around two weeks old for sleepy, curled-up cuddles, or around six to eight weeks once they’re wide awake with those big, wondering stares. Some of my very favourite ages are six to nine months - once they’re sitting steadily and discovering their feet, but before they’re confidently on the move. That said, every stage is worth keeping, and many families return a few times a year to build a collection as their little one grows.
How many people can be in the session?+
Studio Stories (our twenty-minute sessions) include your immediate family - up to 2 adults and 3 children. Studio Chapters, our seasonal sessions, will have their own specs detailed at release. For larger or extended-family groups, a full Family Portrait session gives everyone a little more room; just get in touch and we’ll plan it together.
What’s the difference between a Little White Studio session and a family portrait session?+
Little White Studio sessions are short, repeatable and studio-based - perfect for regular updates, whether that’s siblings, maternity, grandparents, milestones or any of the other combinations. Family Portrait sessions are longer and more in-depth, on location or at home, with time for individual portraits alongside the whole family together.

FAQ

Preparing for your session

What should we wear?+
Soft, neutral tones and simple textures photograph beautifully in the studio - creams, oatmeal, sage, and muted earthy shades - they work just as beautifully in the studio as they do on location. Avoid busy prints and bright logos. Once you book, I’ll send a full styling guide to make it easy.
What if my child won’t cooperate?+
Honestly? That’s my favourite kind of session. Real feelings make the best photos, and I’m a bit of an expert at getting lovely results out of the kids parents are convinced will be uncooperative. The secret is that we make it fun - games and gentle prompts turn it into something they get to enjoy, rather than something they have to behave for. We go entirely at your child’s pace, with room to warm up, move and cuddle - and some of the most-loved images come from the real personalities that come out along the way, not the posed smiles.
Where is the studio?+
The Little White Studio is a purpose-built home studio in Lincoln, Canterbury, with easy off-street parking right at the door. You’ll get the full address and arrival details when you book. Take a look inside the studio.
Can we bring props or special items?+
Absolutely - a treasured blanket, a favourite toy, or something meaningful to your family is always welcome and often makes the most special images. Mention it when you arrive and we’ll work it in.

FAQ

After your session

When and how will I see my photos?+
Your private online gallery arrives within about a week of a Little White Studio session, ready to view and share with family, with 20–40 images to choose from. Longer sessions - on-location, family and at-home family sessions - take a little more time to hand-edit, arriving within one to two weeks with around 40–80 images.
How many images are included?+
Each Little White Studio session includes 4–6 favourite high-res digital images to download. Family sessions work a little differently - you choose and pay only for the images you truly love, so you’re never paying for photos that don’t speak to you. It keeps things flexible, and means your collection is entirely yours.
Do you offer prints and albums?+
Yes - beautiful printed keepsakes are the loveliest way to enjoy your portraits off-screen. I’ll share the options with your gallery so you can choose the pieces that suit your home.
How often do people come back?+
There’s no right or wrong way to tell your family’s story. Some families come to our Little Portrait Club sessions every month for years as their children grow; some mark the milestones with Little White Studio sessions two to four times a year; and others keep an annual full family portrait session as their tradition. However often you visit, it all builds into little chapters of your family’s story, kept and passed on.
